From what I understand, he is planning on going on a hunger strike in protest. I'm sure by 2015, Microsoft will have something to make him happy and allow him to eat again.
Please keep him in your thoughts today.

diazj3Apr 9, 05:31 PMIf you are going for 2TB drives, the WD Caviar Green drives are among the favorites. It's been reported they have some issues regarding the high load cycle counts (http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sugexp=ldymls&xhr=t&q=WD%20caviar%20green%20high%20load%20cycle%20count&cp=10&pq=wd%20green%20high%20load%20cycle%20count&pf=p&sclient=psy&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=WD+caviar+green+high+load+cycle+count&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=6cbe03e6833a46ef) due to the firmware...
I personally like the Samsung F4 (http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy&hl=en&biw=1071&bih=1031&tbm=shop&q=samsung+spinpoint+2TB&aq=f&aqi=g1&aql=&oq=&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=2c1304d622775efd) drives. IME they are faster, low power and very quiet - and a bit less expensive.
But either way, you can't go wrong with any of them - or any major brand high capacity drive for that matter. You'll find opinions in every direction. All drives fail sooner or later, and all of them are subject to DOAs. All of them offer fairly good customer service, depending where you buy.

mcarnesAug 8, 01:50 PMDoes anyone really give a toss about Virtual PC being dead? It was pretty crap anyway.
I don't. It's just one less MS product I have to buy. I'm glad to see it go.

Maestro64Oct 4, 08:48 AMUsing GSP and Iphoto only makes sense if the photo's have the GSP location information as part of the photo. So that mean that the Camera taking the picture has a GSP reciever in it, which is great outside, but GPS does not work indoors

einsteiniumJul 8, 05:32 PMi don't have a car, so i'm slightly limited in my options. 6am is what seems reasonable to me (i have absolutely no desire to camp out over night). I'll risk the later start and if it means I have to wait a few days because I wasn't up early enough. So be it.
I may be a fan, but I am not a fanatic.

jvmxtraMay 3, 07:55 PMIs anyone else having this issue? Mine is not apple monitor but samsung monitor which works fine when hooked up to windows laptop.
When I connected to my new mbp 15(I tried discreet and internal) and I see screen flicking on the external monitor here and there.

ViciousShadow21Nov 11, 04:58 PMHow did you do that?
How did you change your dock into that?
Also, how did you get the analogue clock?
you must delete the dock using Mirage (http://www.dockulicious.com/docks/view/mirage)
then i used a blank geektool (http://projects.tynsoe.org/en/geektool/) script to make the background for the dock.
and the clock is a piece of software called SimpleFloatingClock (http://download.cnet.com/Simple-Floating-Clock/3000-2094_4-173851.html)

songmeesayApr 9, 04:48 PMWhen I encoded Tron Legacy I ended up clicking on the Picture Settings at the top after selecting the iPad preset and changed cropping from Auto to Custom. From there I adjusted cropping settings down to 0 which gave me a resolution of 1024x576. During playback when there are 2.35.:1 scenes, there are lighter black bars due to the actual resolution of the video, but during the IMAX scenes those bars aren't there (of course the "iPad's" black bars are still there due to it's 4:3 screen). So basically the encode stays at 1.78:1 the whole time with "extra" black bars for the 2.35:1 scenes.
I never checked on the chapters option so I'm not sure on that.

BenK01Oct 25, 11:20 AMYes.
Yes, as long as it's a real CD and not one of those wacky not-really-CD things with bizarre copy protect schemes. Even most of those can be brought into an iPod, though.
Thanks.

simsaladimbambaApr 10, 09:05 AMWhat do you mean in a way? http://store.apple.com/ca/browse/home/shop_mac/mac_accessories/memory?mco=MTM3Njk4ODc
If i go to this site, what is my mac genration?
Yes, it means "generation", but if you have a late 2007 MB, then you don't have a "MacBook 7,1", but a MacBook 3,1, which you can find out via the way I showed you.
Thus you choose "MacBook (Generation 3) Family (http://store.apple.com/ca/memoryfamily/ME_MB_PREV_G3)".
But if you want to save some money, buy somewhere else, as Apple is quite expensive for RAM.
It is 77 USD (http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/MacBook/DDR2/) vs. 210 USD (http://store.apple.com/ca/memorymodel/ME_13_2_16_MB), that's a difference of 2.7.

Rodimus PrimeMay 2, 09:33 PMSo use some of the 185 sources listed at the bottom of Apple's Wikipedia page.
Alternatively, ask what the point of this particular assignment is. Your class's assignments could all be done by your professor in about 5 minutes each; "History of [company]".
bingo. That is the correct way to use Wiki. While wiki can not be used as a source it is a great way to find sources for said project.

bokdolMay 4, 08:59 AMi had screen artifacts and then a lock up before. i hoped it was not the mobo. so i cooked my graphics card at 400 degrees in the oven. and now it's back to normal. if you see screen artifacts it's usually a graphics problem. (from my experience since the old ibooks. do you have apple care? if you do. try to record the problem on video and take it to the apple store.

ZwhalerJan 6, 01:04 PMI would go on tuesday, because that is the big day of the keynote. I think it will be worth the crowds if you ask me.
GroundLoopSep 11, 11:45 AMI was at work and watched it all unfold as soon as the TV coverage began. As an employee of Lockheed Martin, our entire company came to a stand-still as plane after plane crashed. Oddly enough, I was at the Pentagon on September 10, 2001 for a meeting with Navy brass.
I am still very thankful that I was able to leave DC the night before the attacks, as who knows where in the buildin I would have been when the plane crashed in DC.

Clive At FiveOct 25, 10:43 AMWow! "Does not make more than a few pennies." I do not think either of you appreciate the power of small numbers, when multiplied by millions of transactions and time. Soap companies have understood this for several hundred years, clearly Apple understands it as well. The individual unit profit on iPods is clearly higher, but each iPod sold acts as a multiplier of where the real money is made. What a dream to earn just one half of one cent of every iTunes purchase. If globally they sell a million songs a day, I'd receive $5k a day or $1,825,000 a year.
I said "Apple makes pennies" and I meant it figuratively:
Firstly, I don't think they even make a whole cent per song (source on that anyone?) and secondly, think of the cost of running the store! Millions of songs and millions of downloads means page construction (albeit probably database construction) and tons of bandwidth. That stuff ain't cheap. I meant that Apple makes pennies on the music store as a whole. I know they probably do turn a measurable profit, but a profit that is utterly DWARFED by iPod sales.
I don't recall the most recent statistics, but let's say Apple makes $25 profit per iPod sold (HUGE underestimate). Say, also that Apple makes $0.05 profit per iTunes song sold (huge OVERestimate). To match those two profits, every iTunes user must download 500 songs. Trust me, that is not how things go. I've downloaded maybe 8... and those were from Pepsi bottles.
