Lord BlackadderMar 15, 04:11 PMA bill has just been introduced in the Ohio state legislature that would ban the death penalty (http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/local_news/stories/2011/03/14/bill-proposes-ending-ohios-death-penalty.html?sid=101). I just heard on local radio that the bill would also change existing death sentences to life without parole. The bill is said to have bipartisan support, and the proponents have pointed out that it would save the state tens of millions of dollars. Of current topical interest is the fact that the lawmakers supporting the bill are marketing it as a cost-saving measure more than anything else.

Ohio is currently one of 34 (I think) states that have a death penalty, is currently second only to Texas in the number of inmates executed yearly, and at the moment has monthly executions already scheduled through November.

sksmith78Apr 10, 10:13 AMI disabled what I do not use in restrictions under the setting menu. A matter of preference of course as to what you wish to restrict, I turned off youtube, ping and itunes and my phone 4 running 4.3.1 seems to be running a bit more smoothly. I miss 4.2.1 and unfortunately, apple will not allow us to downgrade. Cautiously optomistic for the next update!

But - here is the kicker -

We need someone to buy those widgets.

If no one buys the widgets, we can't make the widgets, and in this scenario Apple sell the widget to the end user. The game is with Apple, not the parts supplier.

kalstaMay 1, 06:49 AMAgreed, .mac had a solid, sensible, identifiable connotation. I wasn't a mac guy at the time, but it whenever I'd see it, conveyed that Apple was providing a decent service package for it's users. "me" just seemed needlessly self-absorbed, and conveys nothing useful. "Castle" sounds like somebody in marketing trying hard to be clever.

I wish they'd simplify, combine & condense all these services, give all their iTunes and new hardware customers an account, and give at least one or two services away free to get people using it in some capacity. ...find my iPhone/iPad, or contact/cal/limited storage push syncing... But just go back to calling the whole package ".mac" again. Clean, short, clear, promotes the brand without being obnoxious.

It'll never be '.mac' again. Apple's ecosystem has changed too much since then, and it's not all about the Mac anymore. But I agree they need a free service which at very least includes syncing between devices, and a small amount of online storage.

Sometimes my albums in the photos app go right to the top of the screen and show underneath the 'menubar' at the top so I can tap on it and open the first album in the list. If I pull it back down on the rubberband effect it still goes to the top of the screen?! I have to restart my phone for it to reset and its still hit and miss whether it works.

I've had this a couple of times too, in iPhoto definitely, but I'm pretty sure in something else as well, can't remember.

I found closing the app completely was sufficient though. I mean when you leave the app then double click the home button to go to multitasking, tap and hold the problem app in the multitask bar until they jiggle, tap the cross to shut it down. Then restart the app and it's fine. Much quicker than rebooting :)

I just get annoyed that American's are willing to define other nations military engagements as "illegal". But everything we do is legal just bla bla bla etc.

Claiming that torture is ok because a few terrorist killed 3000 American's must by logical extension mean that it's ok to torture Americans since we have since killed hundreds of thousands of others (most of them quite innocent of any crime) :rolleyes:.

I'm tired of double standards.

We'll see. I'm hopeful for maybe 4.4. We'll see how enthusiastic the cpu is about doing that.. I'm going to be using a CM Hyper 212+ which isn't the absolute best cooler you can buy but it's also not something ridiculous like $80. Still, it will annihilate the hilariously tiny stock intel cooler for sure.

Does anyone know if the AMD 6970 is compatible with GPU2? I can't really find any conclusive information on it and of course I can't try it myself yet. Some people say forcing ati_r800 works but others don't.
